DAVE KILLEN GOES LONG FOR A-Z CHILDREN’S CHARITY

Dave Killen, a long time supporter of the charity heard about this Children’s Clinic for HIV infected children and the plight of the HIV infected child. He took it upon himself to do the most physical challenge out there to help raise money for this centre. In July he will be taking part in the Austrian Iron Man, a gruelling 3.8 km swim, a 180 km cycle, and a full marathon of 42.195 km. This is arguably the hardest race known to man. For his commitment and dedication Dave hopes that his friends, colleagues and the general public will support him on his quest to raise the much needed funds. Dave is a great supporter of A-Z Children’s charity. He and his family sponsor 4 orphans in Uganda, his parents have given generous donations in the past and last year Dave and Jan, instead of getting gifts for their wedding, asked the attendees to donate to A-Z Children’s Charity instead.

His target is to build the emergency unit in the centre which costs €30,000. He wants to sell 300 bricks for €100 each. €100 may seem like a lot for one donation but if you put the challenge he is undertaking in perspective to other fundraising events out there (like the mini marathon) then €100 is a bargain. Please go to http://www.davidkillengoeslong.com/?page_id=2 to get updates on how Dave’s training is going. Please go to http://www.mycharity.ie/event/ironman/ to buy a brick and support Dave. I know times are tough but your support will really motivate Dave to complete this challenge and ultimately it will help save so many HIV infected children’s lives in Uganda.
